YOUTH PROGRAMS
BODYROCK
The BODYROCK Teen Membership is for Junior and Senior High Schoolers at the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA! Your BODYROCK membership includes an optional after school program including activities and free snack which runs Monday-Thursday 3:30-5:30pm October 3, 2011 through May 31, 2012. An official ZUMBA for Kids has finally arrived.
Zumbatomic classes are high-energy fitness parties packed with specially choreographed, kid-friendly routines and all the music kids love, like hip-hop, reggaeton, cumbia and more!! Parents love ZumbAtomic because of the effect it has on kids, increasing their focus and self-confidence, boosting metabolism and enhancing coordination. ZumbAtomic rounds out family fitness goals by giving parents a great reason to head to the gym - for themselves, their kids and for a totally fun family experience.
8 Week Session will be held starting Saturday, January 21st at 1:00pm.
Registration is Required!
Members: $16 per 8 week session
Non-Members: $20 per 8 week session

Aftercare Program
The Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA is now offering a weekly aftercare program for children ages 5-12. We are happy to offer this brand new program to your children to keep them active at the YMCA while the aftercare program will consist of activities such as swimming, sports, games, time and help with homework and a snack each day. Children will need to bring a bathing suit, towel and play clothes. We will also offer swimming lessons for those children who want to improve on there swimming ability or teach those children that don't know how to swim. Swimming lessons will be an additional cost. Bus transportation to the YMCA will be offered to Kistler Elementary, Dana St. Elementary, and St. Nicholas/St. Mary. Children who do not attend these schools can be dropped off at the YMCA for 3:30 p.m. to participate in this aftercare program. Upon arrival your child will work on homework with the aid of some volunteers. The program will run from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with pick up time occurring from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the teen center.
FREE Tutoring
The Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA is now offering FREE tutoring for children on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The tutors are volunteer students from Wilkes University. Tutoring sessions are offered in 45 minute segments between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to register please call Nicky at 823-2191 x 141 to schedule times and dates. Space is limited so contact us today
Youth Indoor Soccer
Open Registration begins December 19, 2011!
U6 and U8 divisions.
Our youth soccer program is perfect for children with soccer skills of any level. At the YMCA we focus on having fun with friends and family while developing a positive self-image.
Practices are held once a week beginning the week of January 30th.
Games are held on Saturdays beginning on February 4th.
Coaches are NEEDED for every team. Please consider this opportunity to pass along your knowledge and enthusiasm to the youth of our community.
