The Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA, BELL (Building Educated Leaders or Life) and the Wilkes-Barre Area and Hanover Area school districts would like to invite your student to participate in the YMCA POWER SCHOLARS ACADEMY™, (PSA) this summer. Power Scholars is a 6 week, summer learning program designed to help advance students’ academic achievement through a full-day of challenging math and reading instruction; fun arts, science, technology, and engineering enrichment activities; community and career exploration; field trips; and a healthy breakfast, snack and lunch.

What Grades:
Wilkes-Barre Area-Current K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders.
Hanover Area-Current 3rd, 4th,  and 5th graders.

Hanover Area: June 18 to July 27
Wilkes-Barre Area: June 25 to August 3rd
No program on July 4th.

Wilkes-Barre Area - 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Hanover Area - 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Regular attendance throughout the program is expected and required.

Cost: FREE! The cost of $1,066.00 for each student is being funded entirely by grants and contributions from your local community.

Wilkes-Barre Area: KISTLER  301 Old River Rd, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702
Hanover Area: Jr. Sr. High School, 1600 San Souci Parkway, Hanover Twp., PA, 18706

Staff: Trained certified teachers and professionals will be teaching the program with a 2:24 staff to scholar ratio for all program activities.
