Jr. Counselors (minimum age 17 yrs.)

Will live with and assist the Sr. Counselor daily activities of a cabin group of 6-8 children and one CIT (Counselor-In-Training during certain sessions only). Must be committed to YMCA character values (caring, honesty, respect & responsibility) and be willing to accept the commitment of helping children improve their self-esteem, self-confidence, and social skills. Must have a desire to help create a positive summer camp experience for every child in their care. Must understand and accept responsibility of modeling positive behavior. Must also be able to demonstrate proper reasons for being at camp by focusing on the kids versus focusing on other staff.
Program Director (minimum age 21 yrs.)
$300/wk
The Program Director is responsible for the smooth running of the summer resident camp program at camp. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supervising program staff, counselors, lifeguards and campers. The Program Director is responsible for the daily operations of the summer camp program including program management, staff schedules and time off as well as theme program delivery. The Program Director drives the pace of the summer resident camp program and must have experience supervising their peers as well as children. Great computer skills, communication skills and organizational skills are a must for success in this position. Experience communicating with adults and parents in a clear and calm manner is a plus. Incumbent must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Counselors-In-Training (CIT) Director (minimum age of 21 yrs.)
$250/wk
Supervise the CIT program through the guidance of the Summer Resident Camp Program Director & Camp Kresge Director. Provide feedback on curriculum changes and additions to enhance the program. Act as cabin counselor to the CITs providing leadership and guidance throughout the program. Lead the CIT backpacking leadership trip as well as required counselor-in-training sessions. Evaluate the CITs and assist with placement in shadowing cabins for shadowing session. CIT program is 3 sessions in length. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Camp Nurse (minimum age of 21 yrs.)
$475/wk + (Nurse's children come to camp for free)
Must be currently certified as a registered nurse in the State of Pennsylvania preferably working in the field of pediatrics or emergency medicine. Responsible for the operation of the camp health center 24 hours a day. Duties include arrival day health checks and meds check-in, record keeping, safekeeping and disbursement of prescription and over-the-counter meds, and maintaining, controlling, and order (as needed) of medical supply inventory. Evaluation (in cooperation with camp director) of sickness and accidents for possible further treatment, first aid, communication with camp physician and disbursement of TLC to all campers and staff.
Archery Specialist (minimum age of 18 yrs.)
$200/wk
Responsible for the planning, operation and safe use of equipment in the archery range. Must have experience with teaching shooting skills and have Archery Association certificate. Camp can help direct the specialist to available trainings in archery. Also responsible for maintaining equipment in safe and operable condition including arrows, & bows, ordering supplies, and safely storing inventory.
Arts & Crafts Specialist (minimum age of 18 yrs.)
$225/wk
Plans and supervises arts & crafts program. Responsible for maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, teaching techniques to campers. Craft projects have included lanyards, leatherworking, candle making, beadwork, plaster of Paris, friendship bracelets, dream catchers, and more. Maintain progression of difficulty in projects to appeal to all ages. Craft projects should appeal to all ages based on the theme that is scheduled for each session.
Mountain Bike Specialist (minimum age of 18 yrs.)
$200/wk
Plan and supervise the mountain board and digglers program. Responsible for regular maintenance on mountain boards and digglers. Provide a safe and fun environment for the campers to experience this exciting outdoor program. Supervised by the Summer Sr. Staff specialist is responsible for creative and new ways to present the programs.
Ropes/Climbing Specialist (minimum age of 18 yrs.)
$225/wk
Experience and training in leading and processing group initiative games, low ropes elements, high ropes elements and climbing tower/zip lines. Must have knowledge of ropes, knots, climbing hardware and harnesses, belaying techniques and safety/rescue procedures.
Range Specialist (minimum age of 18 yrs.)
$200/wk
Responsible for the planning, operation and safe use of equipment in the archery, air rifles, shot gun and .22 caliber rifle ranges. Must have experience with teaching shooting skills and be current NRA certified. Will also be responsible for maintaining equipment in safe and operable condition including cleaning guns, ordering supplies, and safely storing inventory.
Kitchen Staff (minimum age 15 yrs.)

Dish room duties: cleaning and maintaining kitchen floors, washing dishes using commercial dish washing machine, hand washing pots and pans after each meal. Dining hall duties: sweep and maintain floors, fill napkin holders, set up and take down tables and benches as needed for program.

Desired Qualifications:
3 years of food service experience.
BA or Associates Degree as a Dietician or Food Service or Related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, and Food Safe Training from the Health Department.
Experience in Cooking for large groups (50-200)
Ability to relate well with others.
Flexible, dedicated team player with the desire and ability to work in a camp setting.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for the cleanliness and order of both kitchen areas and surrounding support areas.
Cook required meals for staff and campers during an 11 week summer camp season.
Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are being adhered to during food service times.
Ability to communicate and work with individuals or groups participating in our food service program, and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to food service.
Ability to communicate and train staff and campers in safety regulations and emergency procedures.
Ability to become certified in First Aid, CPR and Food Safety.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Salary Range:
$8.75/hour for 15-20 hours per week
